GiveLight Foundation

GiveLight Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian relief organization, established in Sunnyvale, California, USA in January 2005 by a group of young professionals. The foundation seeks to create durable orphanages and provide orphan care in response to natural disasters and extreme condition, like poverty and war. Since inception, GiveLight has been able to operate primarily using volunteer talents in the US to generate awareness and funds for our global projects. Inspired by Islamic values we strive to help orphans across the globe regardless of nationality, race or religion.

Our Mission

GiveLight Foundation provides care and support for orphans in countries affected by national disasters, poverty or social unrest. We've established well run and well funded orphanages in Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and are sponsoring many more orphan children in other countries and locally in the Northern California Bay Area.

Our mission is to build and sustain permanent, high-quality homes and provide our children with world class education, loving family, social activities, spiritual enrichment, after school tutoring and medical care. While we can not bring back their parents, treating them with love & dignity has allowed our kids to do well academically and socially.

Our first home in Aceh, Indonesia established in 2005, is a success story where the kids are growing up happy and thriving. We are scaling that model globally and now supporting more than 800 children globally. We plan to increase our orphan sponsorship to 1,500 by 2015.

Our oldest girl from Aceh home, Nursawami is now a working woman who got scholarship to a prestigious college and graduated with 3.8 GPA. Also, one of our oldest boys, Miko got a scholarship from a Japanese Foundation with GPA 3.6.  He's on his way to become a Scientist. Visit www.givelight.org to learn more about Nurasawami and Miko's story.
